Alistair Black

A Chartered Management Accountant with over 20 years experience gained in the public transport, Scotch whisky, defence, electronics and construction industries.

Prior to launching Business Base in 2004, Alistair held senior management roles in a variety of companies encompassing Business Development, Financial, Operational and General Management. He has extensive international experience and in particular has spent considerable time in America, Japan and South-East Asia during his career.

Alistair gained first-hand experience of Lean Management in action during a 12-year career with a global Japanese parts manufacturing group, where he ran subsidiary businesses in Europe and the USA. In addition to his practical, hands-on work with clients, Alistair co-delivers one of the UK's largest Lean Transformation programmes. He has delivered seminars and written a number of articles on Lean Finance, Performance Measurement and Strategy Development.
